Dichter: Gaza op wasn't leveraged for Shalit's release

Internal Security Minister Avi Dichter told Ynet that Operation Cast Lead was a lever which should have been used more in order to bring Gilad Shalit home.
"Although Gilad was not one of the operation's goals, releasing him was a by-product of the operation. He should have been a much more serious lever for speeding up the negotiations. We didn’t take enough advantage of it," he said. (Roni Sofer)
