The Syrian president is visiting Jordan in an effort to patch up ties ahead of an upcoming Arab League summit later this month.
It is Bashar Assad's first visit to Jordan since 2005. He'll meet with Jordan's King Abdullah II. Assad's visit comes after a meeting last week with the leaders of Saudi Arabia, and Egypt.
Syria has been feuding with Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Jordan over several issues - especially its close alliance with Iran and militant Palestinian and Lebanese groups.
According to a Jordanian Royal Palace statement, Assad and the king will discuss efforts to achieve a unified stance against the challenges that face the Arab world.
