Police shut down Palestinian culture event in Jerusalem

Police have issued an order preventing an event in the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Ras al-Amud celebrating the declaration of Jerusalem as "the culture capital of the Arab world."

Meanwhile another event in the al-Tur neighborhood were also closed. Both events were shut down under the orders of Internal Security Minister Avi Dichter. In all, some 20 organizers and participants have been detained for questioning, and eight events have been shut down. (Efrat Weiss)
