Defense Minister Ehud Barak said in a Jerusalem speech that he would not rest until kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit was returned to Israel. "The ongoing effort to release him is always before our eyes, and the effort must continue today also," he said.
Regarding Israel's offensive in Gaza he said, "I have no doubt that what needs to be probed will be probed, but I also have no doubt in my heart that the IDF is the most moral army in the world." (Ronen Medzini)
