Friends of slain IDF reservists Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev, who were kidnapped into Lebanon by Hizbullah
terrorists during a cross-border raid on July 12, 2006, are also expected to take part in the Seder, which will be open to the public.
Goldwasser and Regev's bodies were returned to Israel on July 16, 2008 in the framework of a prisoner swap with the Shiite group.
Shalit was kidnapped by Palestinian terrorists on June 25, 2006 during a raid on an IDF base near Gaza.
Captain (Res.) Yoav Belkes, who served as Shalit's company commander, told Ynet that the organizers were planning to erect a barbed wire fence around the Seder table to symbolize Gilad's captivity.
"Seats will be available for anyone who wants to join us," he said, adding that invitations were extended to Knesset members.
Belkes continued to say "I hope people will come to make it clear to the new government that we are sick of statements and demand action (to bring about Shalit's release).
"Unfortunately, this responsibility has now been passed from (former Prime Minister Ehud) Olmert to Netanyahu. Defense Minister Ehud Barak promised us he would do everything to bring Gilad back, but I guess in this case 'everything' means 'nothing', he said."
