Police say NIS 38 million needed for pope's security
Police are demanding an additional NIS 38 million ($9.1 million) to fund the security required by the pope during his visit to Israel next week. The Finance Ministry had allotted just NIS 5 million for this aim.
"If the money is not transferred it will be subtracted from other places in the police forces," said Internal Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch. (Roni Sofer)
