Police conclude deployment ahead of pope's visit
Police Commissioner Dudi Cohen said Wednesday that the department has concluded its deployment ahead of Pope Benedict XVI's visit to Israel next week.
Cohen said that Operation White Cape, as the visit has been dubbed, would see 80,000 police officers secure the 23 sites the pope will visit while touring Israel. "The Israeli Police is more than equip to handle such an event. We see this as an historical visit, complex in its own way, but one with national and international affects." (Efrat Weiss)
