Police prevent PA convention in east Jerusalem

Police have closed down a theater in east Jerusalem, effectively preventing a convention organized by the Palestinian Authority in honor of the declaration of Jerusalem as this year's center of Arab culture.
The order to shut down the event came from Internal Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch. The dozens who arrived to attend the convention were dispersed without violence. (Efrat Weiss)
