Egypt objects to Israel's demand to be recognized as Jewish state

Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit said that his country objected to Israel's demand to be recognized as a Jewish state.

In an interview to the London-based Arabic-language al-Sharq al-Awsat newspaper, Aboul Gheit said that "talking about Israel as a Jewish state is a very dangerous thing, and means denying the rights of the Palestinians living there." (Roee Nahmias)
