Settlers in the West Bank began constructing two new outposts in the Binyamin region Wednesday evening, just hours after Israeli security forces dismantled two structures in the Maoz Ester outpost.
"Security forces destroy and we build. Today two outposts were destroyed. We are rebuilding them and also constructing two new points. Anything for the Land of Israel," the Binyamin Settlers' Committee announced.
The new outposts were being built by members of the Land of Israel Faithful movement, who also arrived at Maoz Ester in order to rebuild it. On Thursday the outpost's residents plan to hold a Torah scroll dedication ceremony there in response to the "expulsion."
Earlier Wednesday members of the Land of Israel Faithful movement said in a statement, "in light of the continued destruction and expulsion at Maoz Ester, we will build new outposts throughout the West Bank. All efforts to obstruct this process are doomed to fail."
Police suspect right-wing activists torched a Palestinian field and threw stones at Palestinian vehicles in the West Bank Wednesday in protest against the evacuation of the Maoz Ester outpost.
Civil Administration personnel alerted Palestinian firefighters to the scene in order to put out the blaze. No injuries or damage were reported, and no arrests have been made so far.
