Hamas: We will avenge Qalqilya deaths

Islamist group vows retaliation against Palestinian Authority for the killing of its operatives in two separate clashed in West Bank city

Hamas vowed to avenge the nine people killed in two clashes between its operatives and Palestinian Authority forces in the West Bank city of Qalqilya this week.

The Islamist group promised retaliation Thursday, and blamed Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Premier Salam Fayyad and Interior Minister Said Abu-Ali for the bloody incidents.

"All dialogues and treaties that may be reached in the future will not include clemency to those who took part in this heinous crime, said Hamas military wing spokesman Abu Obaida.

"This gang of traitors in the West Bank continues to kill out people and the Dayton's militias (Lieutenant-General Keith Dayton, the American officer who has been overseeing the training of the PA's security forces) continue to arrest, persecute and kill the Jihad warriors, hunted by the Jewish enemy for years."

Hamas military wing's presence in the West Bank, added Obaida, was far from disappearing. "If anyone thinks we will fade away from the West Bank they are delusional. We are getting stronger and we will show no mercy to those who harm our leaders and our warriors... We call on our fighters to treat Abbas' gangs as if they were the forces of the occupation."
