First case of swine flu in Knesset

Knesset director-general notifies MKs that one of their peers is being treated for H1N1 flu

Knesset members were surprised Sunday when they received a letter from Knesset Director-General Dan Landau saying one of their peers had been diagnosed with H1N1 flu, also dubbed swine flu.
The letter does not state the patient's name, but explains that he is being treated according to standard procedure and that he is improving.
"At this stage we have no knowledge of the disease having passed on to other Knesset members or family members," the letter says.
Landau also warns MKs to get checked by the Knesset's doctor if they begin to display symptoms such as sore throat, cough, runny nose, or shortness of breath together with a high fever.
So far 48 cases of swine flu have been diagnosed in Israel, seven of them during recent days. On Saturday the Health Ministry called on anyone who arrived on El Al's flight 002 from New York or Lufthansa's flight 690 from Frankfurt to see a doctor if they felt sick.
