MK on Ynet report: Prevent Rabbi Sherman from discussing conversion
MK Zevulun Orlev (Habayit Hayehudi) called upon the president of the Great Rabbinical Court, Chief Rabbi Shlomo Amar, to prevent Rabbi Avraham Shermon from discussing issues of conversion. This comes on the backdrop of Rabbi Sherman's revocation of a conversion carried out by the Chief Rabbinate.
Orlev said that Sherman's ruling, which was first published in Ynet, is "a challenge to the religious court system and the Chief Rabbinate that must be addressed." He also announced that he intends to initiate a bill stipulating that only a special court headed by Rabbi Amar will have the authority to discuss nullifying conversions. (Kobi Nahshoni)
