Netanyahu aide: Israel cancelled Mitchell meeting
An aide to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's commented on reports of the cancellation of the meeting scheduled between Netanyahu and US Mideast envoy George Mitchell in Paris, saying, "Israel is the one that cancelled the meeting due to the need to collect more data and present it to the American envoy in an organized fashion.
"There is no truth to claims that the Americans called off the meeting due to a dispute," the source added, referring to reports that the meeting was cancelled due to a dispute between the US and Israel over settlement construction. (Roni Sofer, Rome)
