Defense establishment: Ease of restrictions in return for Shalit
The defense establishment has recommended an ease of restrictions in Gaza, mainly at the crossings, in return for advancing the talks for kidnapped soldier Gilas Shalit's release, Ynet has learned.
The recommendation – which include the transfer of coffee, tea, soup and canned food, as well as fuel for electricity production, into the Strip – were submitted to the approval of Defense Minister Ehud Barak and IDF Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi at the beginning of the week, and will later be presented to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
