Defense Minister Ehud Barak congratulated IDF Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi and Major-General Benny Gantz in honor of the latter's appointment as deputy chief of staff.
"This was a clean decision made with reasoning, so that in the future we will have several candidates for the role of chief of staff," Barak said ahead of the weekly cabinet meeting. (Roni Sofer)
