Ayalon to US envoy: Israel ready for direct talks with Syria
Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon met Wednesday with Fred Hoff, assistant to US special envoy to the Middle East George Mitchell, and said, "Israel is prepared for direct negotiations with Syria, but only with no preconditions."
Ayalon also said, "One cannot speak of peace on the one hand, and then on the other hand incite war as the Syrians do through Hezbollah, Hamas, the Islamic Jihad, and tightened contact wit Iran." (Roni Sofer)
