Syria to US envoy: Israel must retreat from Golan
Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Moallem said in his Damascus meeting with Fred Hoff, assistant to US special envoy to the Middle East George Mitchell that Israel must return the Golan Heights in its entirety and return to the June 4, 1967 borders, according to a report in the official Syrian news agency.
According to the report, Hoff said that the US is interested in taking an active roll in achieving regional peace. (AFP)
