A 21-year-old Palestinian, convicted of planning terrorist attacks as a member of a local branch of al-Qaeda, was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment.
Darwish Abu Ayash, of the Balata refugee camp, joined al-Qaeda in 2005 and tried to orchestrate a suicide attack in Jerusalem. Judges in the Samaria Military Court noted that "only by a miracle did the attacks he planned not result in deaths." (Hanan Greenberg)
