Chief of staff authorizes IDF streamlining plan

Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi authorized the first section the joint IDF-Defense Ministry multi-year streamlining initiative.
The initiative, called "Harvest Time," is a multi-year plan that aims to make the defense establishment more efficient by NIS 100 million (about $25 million) per year. The plan includes cutbacks in various areas of the IDF and the defense establishment with the declared objective of trimming NIS 30 billion (about $7.9 billion) over ten years. (Tani Goldstein)
