Jihan Musa's passing is the second flu-related death recorded in Israel.

Musa, a 24-year-old resident of the Western Galilee city of Ma'alot - Tarshiha, was admitted to the hospital over the weekend after exhibiting several symptoms including, dizziness, shortness of breath and a fever. Her condition worsened steadily and she died overnight.

Several blood samples were taken from her and sent to the Chaim Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer for analysis, in hopes that the results would be able to shed some light on the circumstances of her death.

Musa's father told Ynet that the family was still trying to come to grips with the tragedy. His daughter, he said, began feeling under the weather on Wednesday, and after the medication prescribed by her doctor did not help, she decided to seek medical attention at the hospital.

"She was in the ICU all weekend long and the entire family was with her," he said. "Her condition started to deteriorate on Saturday and she died during the night."

Ziv Farber, a spokesman for the hospital in Nahariya said Musa was diagnosed with severe pneumonia and quarantined immediately upon her arrival, before she came in contact with other patients.

Musa was laid to rest in her hometown cemetery, earlier Sunday.
