2 Israelis lightly injured in West bank shooting

Two men reported Palestinians opened fire at their car from passing vehicle. Injured evacuated to Jerusalem hospital, IDF searching area for shooters

Two Israelis were lightly wounded near Givat Haroeh outpost in the West Bank Wednesday evening, apparently by shrapnel. The two reported that Palestinians opened fire at their vehicle.

The injured were evacuated to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem and the IDF launched searches for the shootersBullet marks have been found on the car.

An initial investigation revealed that while the car was moving between the settlement of Eli to Maale Levona, fire was opened at it, possibly from another vehicle.

Two of the three passengers were injured but managed to get to the entrance of Maale Levona, where they alerted security forces and Magen David Adom to the scene.

Yehuda Ben-Eli of Givat Haroeh told Ynet: "I saw two figures moving at the olive grove and called the local security coordinator. The next thing I knew there was shooting."

Ben-Eli added that the outposts' residents were ordered to remain indoors while the IDF was searching for the perpetrators.

In a separate incident Wednesday Palestinians threw stones at an Israeli car moving northeast of Hebron. No one was hurt, but the car sustained some damage.

IDF forces have scanned the area in search of the perpetrators.
