Iran has offered to arm the Lebanese army, Beirut's al-Akhbar newspaper reported Wednesday.
In a brief report, the paper said that the Iranian Embassy in Beirut inquired after the Lebanese army's armament needs. The latter replied in detail, focusing mainly on air force needs. The move is reportedly a first on Iran's part. The paper did not mention if the sides had reached any concrete agreement. (Roee Nahmias)
