June marks 8% wage increase
Central Bureau of Statistics says average salary for 2009's halfway mark was NIS 8,472; qualifies data by saying actual rise is modest 0.25%
The average employee wages noted an 8% rise in June and were set at NIS 8,472 (approx. %2,250) the Central Bureau of Statistics said Monday.
Nevertheless, the CBS qualified the data, saying that once the raw figures were processed and seasonal factors were included, the wages were likely to be set at NIS 8,153 ($2,168), representing a more modest 0.25% rise.
The first half of 2009 noted a 0.9% drop in gross wage rates, compared with the first half of 2008.
The CBS also published its 2008 gross household income survey Monday, saying that
Israel's top echelon's household income was 9.7 times higher than that of its lowest socioeconomic echelon, making up 24.3% of Israel's gross household income.
