Iran: Cleric close to Ahmadinejad killed
A Sunni cleric considered close to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was killed Saturday by unidentified gunmen in the northwestern Iranian province of Kurdistan, Iranian news agencies reported Sunday.
"Ali Borhan Mamousta was on his way home from prayers when three unknown assailants fired at him," the Mehr news agency reported, adding that he was killed outside his house and hit by several bullets. (AFP)
