Judge Richard Goldstone, who headed the UN commission that investigated Operation Cast Lead said that he is saddened that Jews around the world feel that because he himself is a Jew that he should not investigate Israel. Goldstone said that as a Jew, he feels that he
has a larger responsibility than most to investigate war crimes.
In an interview with CNN, Goldstone said that no comparison can be made between what is happening in Israel and what happened in Yugoslavia, saying that the Israeli-Palestinian situation does not even come close to what happened there. He said that though many people compare what goes on in the territories to apartheid, there are many differences. (Ynet)
