Temple Mount: Friday prayers begin; police on high alert

Some 6,500 Muslim worshipers are attending Friday prayer services at Temple Mount in Jerusalem. Police allowed entrance only to Israeli ID owners only, and males over the age of 50. Restrictions were not placed on women worshipers.

The police is on high alert in the Old City, around the Temple Mount compound and surrounding villages in east Jerusalem. (Efrat Weiss)
