Minorities minister: Deporting foreign kids a stain on Israel

None

Minister for Minority Affairs Avishay Braverman said not accepting the children of labor immigrants as citizens of the state would "be a stain on the State of Israel."

Speaking at the swearing in ceremony of Islamic judges at the President's Residence, the minister mentioned Israel's embrace of refugees from Vietnam in the 1980s, saying, "Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu must do as Menachem Begin did. I do not see a situation in which the children are deported. This matter must be resolved and we must understand that they should be equal citizens in the State of Israel." (Aviad Glickman)
