UN chief backs Human Rights Council vote on Goldstone Report

The UN secretary-general supports Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in his desire to submit to the Human Rights Council a report accusing Israel of committing war crimes committed during the war in Gaza, a spokesman for Ban Ki-moon said Monday.
Ban and Abbas discussed the issue during a telephone conversation, said spokeswoman Michele Montas. (AFP)
