Shootout kills 2 al-Qaeda members, 1 Saudi soldier

A Saudi official says two members of al-Qaeda and a soldier have been killed in a shootout in southern Saudi Arabia.

Interior Ministry spokesman Brigadier-General Mansour al-Turki says security forces stopped a car carrying three militants Tuesday at a checkpoint in the region of Jizan. He says two of them were disguised as women, and the three opened fire as their vehicle was about to be searched. (AP)
