National Service budget won't lose NIS 45 million

The National Service layout will receive some NIS 45 million (roughly $12 million) in budget funds, a statement issued by Science and Technology Minister Daniel Hershkowitz reads. This, following an agreement struck with Director General of the Prime Minister's Office Eyal Gabai.
The sum was meant to be deducted as part of a lateral government budget cut for the purpose of addressing security needs and swine flu treatment. "I am glad our effort was fruitful and prevented a complete collapse of the National Service," minister Hershkowitz said. (Roni Sofer)
