A Qassam rocket fired Wednesday evening from the northern Gaza Strip exploded in an agricultural zone near a southern Israel kibbutz.

No injuries or damages were reported in the latest attack.

Farmers who were in the area at the time the rocket landed reported hearing a loud explosion. The secretary-general of the kibbutz located near the landing site said the Color Red alert system was not activated because the Qassam blew up near the Gaza border fence.

"To our deep regret, our feeling is that as opposed to the impression apparently prevalent among the public, the fire still continues," he said, but noted that the attacks were infrequent.

"Hamas and the other various elements are maintaining a routine of attacks," he said. "When they wish to do so, they fire, and when they don't want to fire they hold back. To our great regret, we have not seen a proper response to this matter."
