Interior Minister Eli Yishai verbally attacked Welfare Minister Isaac Herzog and others before the cabinet meeting for their support of allowing foreign workers' children to remain in Israel: "To my great chagrin, there are a lot of ministers here who prefer to be popular and to look good."
"The previous government set down a clear policy, and, from then on, no foreigners will infiltrate Israel and threaten the Zionist enterprise. If we say to whoever has children in Israel that they have an insurance policy, it's a lost cause," said Minister Yishai. (Roni Sofer)
