IDF Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi said during a Tel Aviv ceremony in memory of slain Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin that "even today there are people in our society attempting to take the law into their hands and change reality by inciting and hurting innocent people.
"We must remember and remind that it is our commitments to uproot those 'weeds' (negative elements) before they grow another evil, and denounce wrongdoing which harms the values of man's honor and society's valued strength and unity," Ashkenazi added. (Hanan Greenberg)
