The Color Red rocket alert system was activated Monday in the Sderot area, after a Qassam rocket was fired at Israel from the Gaza Strip.

Shortly after the alarm went off, the rocket landed in an open field in the Shaar Hanegev Regional Council. No injuries or damage were reported in the latest attack.

Earlier, the rocket alert system was activated in the southern town of Ashkelon. However, it later turned out to be a result of technical failure due to the stormy weather conditions.

Last week, a rocket was fired from the northern Gaza Strip and landed in an open field in the Eshkol Regional Council. There were no injuries or damages in that strike.

Two weeks ago, Air Force jets attacked a structure in Gaza City that was used to store weapons, as well as two smuggling tunnels on the Rafah border.

The Air force attack came in response to a Qassam rockets fired at Israel. The rocket exploded in an agricultural area between Shaar Hanegev and Sdot Negev Regional Councils
