EU asks Turkey to rethink Sudan's Bashir visit

Turkey has received a request from the European Union to reconsider its decision to invite indicted Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir to a meeting of Islamic countries, a Turkish foreign ministry official said on Friday.

Bashir, who has an international arrest warrant against him for war crimes, has announced plans to attend an Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) summit in Istanbul on Monday. (Reuters)
