Turkish court jails colonel in military conspiracy

A Turkish court has jailed a navy colonel accused of conspiring to discredit the Islamic-rooted government.

The Istanbul court's decision to arrest and jail Col. Dursun Cicek late Wednesday comes after forensic experts concluded it was Cicek who signed a document said to be a blueprint for a smear campaign against Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's party. (AP)
