Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas reiterated his decision to turn to the UN Security Council in order to garner support for the unilateral declaration of a Palestinian state.
"We feel like we are in a very harsh reality. What is the solution for us? To stay without peace? This is the reason I took this step," said Abbas in a press conference he held in Cairo at the end of his meeting with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. According to him, the Palestinian Authority is determined to continue making strides in this direction. (Ali Waked)
