A special Hannukah concert series will be coming to the New York and New Jersey area next month, the National Council of Young Israel announced this week.

International singing sensation Tsudik, the world renowned Budapest Klezmer Band, and child singing prodigy Orad Katz will be performing three different Hannukah concerts in December. The concerts are a Levie Kanes production, in conjunction with the Israel-based Cantors Center. Partial proceeds from the concerts will benefit the National Council of Young Israel's Israel programs.

Tsudik and the Budapest Klezmer Band will be appearing on December 14 at 8 pm at the BergenPac Theater on 30 North Van Brunt Street in Englewood, New Jersey; on December 15 at 8 pm at Town Hall on 123 W. 43rd Street in Manhattan; and on December 16 at 8 pm at the Millenium Theater on 1029 Brighton Beach Avenue in Brooklyn.

Tsudik Greenwald's melodious tenor voice and wide vocal-range have earned him worldwide acclaim. Tsudik, who learned the art of Chazanut under the tutelage of Cantor Moshe Stern and the conductor Maestro Eli Yaffe, has performed in venues around the world. He was recently appointed Chief-Cantor for the Jewish community of Frankfurt, Germany, where he assumed the role performed by the great Cantor Yitzchak Meir Helfgot.

The Budapest Klezmer Band has developed a formidable reputation throughout Europe and North America. The seven-piece band is made up of Istvan Kohan on the clarinet, Bence Gazda on the violin and vocals, Anna Nagy on the accordion, Gabor Tamas on the trombone and vocals, Gabor Kiss on the electric bass, and Balasz Vegh on the drums and percussion.

Led by its pianist, vocalist and world famous composer/arranger Ferenc Javori, the Budapest Klezmer Band has achieved great success and has performed in Amsterdam, Helsinki, Zurich, Barcelona, Stockholm, Munich, London, and all over North America.
