Hamas official: Progress in Shalit talks not enough for deal
None
Head of Hamas' foreign relations Osama Hamdan confirmed that significant progress had been achieved in negotiations for the release of captive soldier Gilad Shalit, but stressed that it wasn't enough for an execution of a prisoner exchange deal.
Hamdan said that an exchange deal would not be implemented so long as Israel's prime minister "doesn't comply with resistance's demands." He denied any connection between deal talks and the Palestinian organizations' in the Gaza Strip decision to cease rocket firing into Israel. (Ali Waked)
