Fearing protest, commanders check Nachal Haredi troops before ceremony

Commanders of the Nachal Haredi thoroughly examined their troops ahead of a ceremony in honor of the unit's establishment at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Ynet has learned.
The commanders feared troops would rally against the evacuation of West Bank settlements, in the wake of protests to this effect currently sweeping through the IDF. Soldiers said they were forced to lift up their shirts and empty their pockets as part of the examination. (Hanan Greenberg)
