Two Border Guard officers and five civilians sustained light wounds in clashes between security forces and dozens of Palestinians, leftist activists, and foreign activists during an anti-fence protest in Naalin Saturday.

The Palestinians said a baby was hurt by tear gas after IDF troops entered the village, and that forces were firing rubber bullets.

The IDF said the soldiers crossed the security barrier and entered the village in order to disperse protestors who were hurling stones

at them. However, the IDF stressed that the soldiers did not get close to homes in the village houses and did not use rubber bullets against the protestors.

At one point, IDF troops detained a local resident after clashes broke out at the site. Later, sources in the village said local residents attempted to block the military jeep and prevent it from driving away.

A week ago, two Palestinians sustained moderate wounds after IDF forces dispersed the weekly anti-fence protest.
