President Shimon Peres met with his Costa Rican counterpart, Oscar Arias Sanchez, and thanked him for his country's friendship with Israel.
Speaking at a festive welcoming ceremony held in Jerusalem Sanchez said, "It is a great honor for me to be a guest in the holy land. I hope in the future we will be able to say that here, where love began, the war ended. Here, where previously violence reigned, two people are currently living in freedom and harmony."
