Students of military academies called on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to thoroughly examine the many sides of a possible prisoner swap deal for kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit before approving it.
In letters sent to Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak, the students wrote, "We must not release prisoners 'at all costs', out of a long-term vision and concern for the safety and national strength of Israeli society." The letter adds, "Despite the pain, we believe a country that loves life must not capitulate to the worst of terrorists." (Hanan Greenberg and Kobi Nahshoni)
