Maale Adumim joins petition calling freeze orders illegal

The Maale Adumim Municipality, Har Adar Regional Council, Jordan Valley Regional Council, and the Megilot Regional Council petitioned the High Court demanding that the building freeze orders issued to West Bank settlements be withdrawn.
The petitioners did not criticize the government's policy in their petition, but questioned the jurisdiction of an IDF commander in the West Bank to issue such a sweeping order. In addition, the petitioners claimed that the orders violate the rights of the settlers. A number of petitions of this sort have already been submitted to the High Court. (Aviad Glickman)
