Report: Shalit deal at critical juncture, German mediator in Israel

A Palestinian source affiliated with a prisoner swap deal for kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit told Al-Jazeera that the next 48 hours would prove critical for the success or failure of the venture.
The source added that the German mediator in the deal had arrived in Tel Aviv carrying Hamas' answer to Israel's latest offer. (Roee Nahmias)
