Rabbi Levanon on mosque arson: Act that must not be committed
Rabbi Elyakim Levanon, the rabbi of the settlement Elon Moreh, said in the name of West Bank rabbis, "We are opposed to all violence towards Jews – soldiers, civilians, and settlers – and towards Arab civilians."
"The holy sites of the three religions are outside the framework of the national struggle between the two peoples," said Rabbi Levanon. He added, "We all recall the burning of synagogues in Gush Katif by Arab rioters, and we must certainly not lower ourselves to the enemy's level. Such an act does not serve any positive purpose and must not be committed." (Efrat Weiss)
