Explosive charge, shock grenade detonated in controlled manner; two Palestinians arrested. Illegal resident captured in Ashkelon on suspicion of being sent to carry out terror attack

Israel Defense Forces soldiers uncovered an improvised explosive device and a shock grenade on the bodies of two Palestinians approaching a checkpoint southeast of the West Bank city of Nablus on Sunday evening.

The force spotted the suspects marching towards the checkpoint in Beit Furik and launched a suspect detention procedure, firing two shots in the air.

After the Palestinians were arrested, the explosives were detonated in a controlled manner and the two were taken in for questioning by the security forces.

Earlier Sunday, Palestinian security forces arrested a West Bank man residing illegally in the southern city of Ashkelon on suspicion of being sent to carry out a terror attack in Israel. Massive police and IDF forces searched for the man with the help of a helicopter. He was captured four hours later and taken in for questioning.

On Saturday night, a 22-year-old Israeli woman was stabbed at the Gush Etzion Junction, sustaining light to moderate wounds. She was hospitalized at the Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem.

The woman, Ayala Margalit, was waiting at a bus stop at the junction when she was suddenly stabbed in her lower back. According to eyewitnesses, she was stabbed by a Palestinian who then fled the scene. Another person waiting at the bus stop was unharmed.
