Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon said Turkish-mediated negotiations with Syria have failed because "Syria didn't desire peace."
He said Syria fooled the world in order to have itself removed from global isolation. "Today, in retrospect, it can be said that the Turkish mediation was a mistake, since it affected the ties between us (Israel and Turkey)," he said, speaking at the Institute for National Security Studies on Tuesday.
