Border Guards suspected of mugging Sudanese in Eilat

The Police Investigations Unit arrested two Border Guard officers on suspicions that they mugging a Sudanese man in Eilat. The attacked man filed a complaint that the two took him from the center of the city to an isolated area in the mountains outside the city, where they beat him and stole NIS 700 (about $185) from him before fleeing.

 

The complainant's entry visa was found in possession of one of the suspects, as well as NIS 300 (about $80) in cash. The two suspects were brought to Rishon Lezion Magistrates' Court for a hearing on the extension of their remand. (Aviad Glickman)
